Rules for Movin', Livin' & Lovin'

Happy Mid-Winter! This time of year tends to slow me down physically but speeds me up mentally.  Lots of thought bubbles all around :)

Every month i choose a book from my Movement & Yoga bookshelf to reference in my classes.  It can be anything from philosophy to anatomy to poetry. January was the Yoga Sutras, the book that lays down the path and guidelines of Yoga. 

I was recently laughing to myself about my latest thought bubble. It was about our own personal guidelines that we lay down and live by- some conscious, some unconscious.  I decided to put together my top 10 'rules' for Movin', Livin' & Lovin' ❤️

1) Move mindfully a little every day. A little more often is better than a lot once in a while. (For inspiration, check out the video at the end of this email!)
2) Eat well. Splurge on quality, save on quantity.
3) Pad your precious knees with a blanket in yoga, please.
4) Always wear the comfortable shoes.
5) Stop holding in your belly. Let go and let yourself breathe, for the love of god! 
6) Get out of your comfort zone. Do something that scares you.
7) Be really kind to your sweet honey.
8) Always have a vacation in the works- a weekend, a week, a month- anything! (our Dominican Republic Retreat is FULL but if you need another suggestion here is one I totally recommend: Retreat to Puglia, Italy in June!) See rule #6. 
9) If everyone else is looking down at their phone, put yours away and look up.  
10) Break the rules, sometimes :)
